Mate is not a rocket science. There is nothing highly precise and academic about it. There is no right or wrong way to prepare and drink mate, as long as you are enjoying it. That being said, there are some things related to mate that I prefer and do it my own way, and I feel like they allow me to understand and enjoy it better. At the end of the day, I like to say that mate is first and foremost, an experience.
