Mathienzo

Mathienzo was founded in Buenos Aires in 2012 by industrial designers Nicolás Tiferes and Mercedes Buey Fernández. The project originally began out of a personal frustration with traditional gourds splitting or molding, leading the founders to design a vibrant, indestructible silicone mate cup that quickly became a massive hit with urban drinkers. Building on the immense success of their hardware, they eventually expanded into producing their own premium, boutique yerba mate sourced from Central Misiones, Argentina.

True to its design-led roots, Mathienzo has spent over a decade challenging the conventions of the traditional yerba mate industry. Today, the brand is celebrated globally for its meticulous 24-month natural aging process, which ensures an incredibly smooth flavor completely devoid of heavy acidity, and its forward-thinking innovation, which includes pioneering ready-to-drink mate tonics and globally exporting its premium blend to enthusiasts worldwide.
