Bunge and Born, brothers-in-law, wanted to further develop the agricultural potential of the country with wheat as their main product. In 1902 they decided to start the company S.A. de Molinos Harineros y Elevadores de granos Molinos Rio de la Plata. After that they started to make other groceries and products, like vegetable oils, until 1940, when Molinos entered the yerba mate segment with their new brand - Nobleza Gaucha. (source)

Throughout the whole 20th century they were growing and expanding. Molinos entered other food markets, like bakery products and frozen foods. Another landmark in their history was aquisition of a Chilean company that produced yerba mate under Cruz De Malta brand in 2006.

Today Molinos is a very diverse food company that makes one of the best yerba mate on the Argentine market despite the fact that they are not focusing on it as their primary product.
